A large part of Doug’s perfectionism involves not leaving a mess behind after the job is done. That’s why he uses waterborne paints which don’t release any VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) into the atmosphere. It’s why his downdraft paint booth uses a water filtration system in the floor. It’s all collected in a sump.
It’s why he uses a liquid masking system instead of the usual tape made from trees. The compound turns into a totally bio degradable soap that washes the car when water is applied.
Doug recycles about 95% of all his paint thinner. He gathers it up, distills it on site and reuses it. The small dirty portion that’s left after processing is dried and hardened and goes into landfills.
Doug also recycles all motor oil and paint, too ... and ...
... all the cardboard used to package parts & materials
... all the damaged sheet metal removed from the wrecked vehicles
... and all air-conditioning refridgerant.
