Throughout his life, Doug has been a perfectionist. From aligning the handlebars on his first tricycle to ensuring a damaged BMW frame is back to factory specs, Doug has always pursued excellence.
Back in 1970, Doug got into the body shop business. After a modest start, his reputation for returning vehicles to pristine factory condition (often better) and his concern for customers began to catch on. It was obvious to everyone who met him that Doug loved his work. Still does.
Along the way, Doug recruited some of the best people in the business. Specialists who shared his passion. Most have stayed with him. Not only because he's a great guy to work for, but also because he stays on the leading edge of the industry. And buys them sexy state-of-the-art equipment to work with.
In 1988 Doug opened his second shop, Doug's Too. He rebuilt the new Doug's Place in 2002 from scratch with all the latest innovations and technical stuff. Both locations have always pioneered the use of environmentally friendly practices. Because Doug isn't just ahead of the curve; he's constantly recalibrating it.
